Lucie Vendelová Jirásková graduated in History and English at the Pedagogical faculty of the University of South Bohemia (M.A. thesis: The ancient land on the Nile through the eyes of Czech Renaissance) and in Egyptology and History and Culture of Islamic Countries at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts of Charles University in Prague (M.A. thesis: The geographic horizon of Ancient Egyptians in the 3rd millennium BC). In her doctoral studies (since 2008), she focuses on the origins of the early Egyptian state and the development of administration in the Early Dynastic period. She is also interested in the development and further interpretation of stone vessels.
